Dewulf unveils Kwatro Generation 3 at Potato Europe

On 9 and 10 September, Dewulf will present a wide range of harvesting, planting and storage equipment at Potato Europe in Springe, Germany. Taking centre stage is the new Kwatro Generation 3, which will make its world debut and be demonstrated live alongside the Enduro and RA3060. Also on display will be the Certa 40 Integral with power harrow, along with several innovative and product-friendly solutions from the storage range.

Kwatro Generation 3 (NEW)

The new Kwatro Generation 3 is a robust 4-row self-propelled potato harvester on tracks. The machine combines frontal harvesting with three sieving webs, a hedgehog belt and the Flexyclean 2.0 cleaning module. Flexyclean 2.0 is a further developed, patented bypass system combined with axial rollers, allowing perfect adaptation to harvesting conditions. The degree to which the potatoes are cleaned can be continuously adjusted from 0 to 100% from the cab.

The two-part bunker has a capacity of 12 tonnes. Unloading is extra product-friendly as there is no transfer roller and no cover, so the product does not need to pass through a funnel. Because the fixed bunker floor is followed by a discharge elevator with bar webs, excess soil is sieved out during unloading.

The new Kwatro is built to deliver high performance in a wide range of conditions. The Scania DC13 Stage V delivers 550 hp, providing ample power for demanding harvesting conditions. The spacious Claas X-11 cab offers the operator a pleasant working environment. Thanks to the ergonomically designed N-joystick, the hand rests in a natural horizontal position, with all key functions within easy reach. The large, clear control unit is fully touchscreen.

Certa 40 Integral with Lemken power harrow (NEW)

Dewulf is also introducing a new development in planting technology. The Certa 40 Integral, a 4-row mounted cup planter with integrated soil preparation, can now be combined with the Lemken Zirkon 12 power harrow, equipped with 38 cm tines. This combination offers a major advantage in heavy clay soils, producing a fine tilth while preserving the soil’s natural structure. It is also particularly well suited to stony fields.

Nine large depth wheels in front of the cultivator ensure precise, automatic depth control and sufficient bearing capacity, even in light and/or loose soil.

Each planting element is equipped with a separate hydraulic drive, making the planting distance continuously adjustable for each row. The width of the planting tube can be adjusted by means of a lever at the top of the element, which is particularly beneficial when dealing with long seed potatoes. The planting tube width can be adjusted between 89 and 114 mm.

The bunker has a capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes and can optionally be equipped with load cells. This makes it possible, among other things, to plant according to a target rate in kilograms per hectare. The system can also calculate the average tuber weight and indicate how many hectares can still be planted with the remaining bunker contents.

Proven harvesting and storage technology in action

Alongside the Kwatro, Dewulf will also demonstrate the second-generation Enduro. This 4-row self-propelled harvester on tyres is equipped with an axial module with bypass. Its inclination can be adjusted between 0 and 12°, allowing the cleaning intensity to be adapted to the harvesting conditions. The Enduro features a spacious 10-tonne bunker and unloads without a transition roller, ensuring product-friendly handling. Thanks to its low ground pressure of no more than 1.8 kg/cm² and excellent traction, the harvester continues to deliver high performance even in challenging conditions.

The RA3060 will also be demonstrated. This 2-row self-propelled sieving harvester on three wheels recently received a major facelift, with a strong focus on comfort and ease of use. The spacious Claas X-11 cab, ergonomic N-joystick and new touchscreen put the operator front and centre. Thanks to Level X, also available on the Kwatro and Enduro, Dewulf delivers consistent quality, greater efficiency and maximum user comfort. The integrated IoT platform also provides growers with valuable insights into their harvest.

The MH 241 receiving hopper will be demonstrated with a presentation conveyor and two cleaning units. The first unit features Smart-Pin, with a wear-resistant pin positioned between the spiral rollers to help maintain a consistent cleaning level. The second unit features Clean-Boost, which temporarily increases the speed of the electrically driven PU spiral rollers, helping to remove adhering soil and debris from the rollers. An ME 100 elevator conveyor (10 m long, 80 cm wide) carries away excess soil after cleaning. An MC 2080 duo belt conveyor (20 m long, 80 cm wide) and a fully automatic ML 1980 store loader (19 m long, 80 cm wide) with X-Stream complete the storage demonstration. Thanks to its Premium filling function, the ML 1980 can fill an entire store in perfectly even layers, fully automatically and without manual intervention, while ensuring product-friendly handling.

Planting and storage equipment at stand GD100

At the stand, Dewulf will present the Miedema Structural 4000. This trailed 4-row belt planter has a bunker capacity of 4,000 kg. It ensures extremely precise potato placement while giving each seed potato exactly the space it needs for optimal growth. The renowned, original Structural belt planting system combines a high level of product-friendliness, particularly with pre-germinated seed potatoes, with high operating speeds of up to 11 km/h. Thanks to Ferti-Flow, the fertiliser dispensing rate per hectare is infinitely adjustable.

For storage, Dewulf will present the MB 34 box filler in combination with the ME 3-70 elevator conveyor. The MB 34 is fully electrically powered and tilts the filling conveyor into the box. This energy-efficient box filler features two box stoppers, making it suitable for box lengths ranging from 120 to 260 cm. The product guidance flap ensures symmetrical filling of the boxes, resulting in optimal ventilation during storage. The box filler directly drives the ME 3-70 elevator conveyor, whose intake height can be adjusted using a jack underneath.
